Mental Health & Psychological Wellbeing

Mental Health Care Plans
GP Mental Health Treatment Plans providing access to Medicare-rebated sessions with a psychologist or other mental health professional.
ADHD Care
Initial evaluation, screening for the conditions that commonly accompany or resemble ADHD, and referral for formal assessment. For patients already diagnosed by a specialist: ongoing management, medication review, and continuation prescribing under a Schedule 8 permit. Please see the scope note below.
Neurodiversity Support
General practice care and care coordination for neurodivergent patients — including autistic patients, sensory processing differences, and learning differences — with understanding and without judgement. Formal autism assessment is undertaken by specialist assessors, to whom I can refer.
A note on ADHD care in Victoria — current as at July 2026.
General practitioners in Victoria cannot currently diagnose ADHD independently or initiate stimulant medication. A formal diagnosis must be made by a psychiatrist, paediatrician or psychologist. Where a specialist has diagnosed ADHD and recommended treatment, I can apply for a Schedule 8 permit to continue prescribing. The Victorian Government announced reforms in February 2026 that will allow appropriately trained GPs to diagnose and initiate treatment; the enabling legislation is not yet in force. This page will be updated when it commences.

Chronic Disease Management

Ongoing care for long-term and chronic health conditions, including metabolic and weight-related concerns.

Cardiovascular Health
Assessment and management of hypertension, high cholesterol, and cardiovascular risk factors, with tailored lifestyle and medical strategies.
Metabolic Health
Type 2 diabetes, insulin resistance, and conditions such as Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Fatty Liver Disease (MAFLD) — with medication review, lifestyle support, and specialist coordination.
Weight Management
A whole-person approach to weight management, addressing the lifestyle, hormonal, psychological, and metabolic factors that contribute to lasting and sustainable change.

In addition to the above, Dr Bambie provides a full range of general practice services — including family and children's health, routine health checks, cancer screenings, immunisations, sexual health and STI screening, travel medicine, and medical certificates and referrals.
